How does Circulating Fluidized Bed Boilers work?
Circulating Fluidized Bed boilers have witnessed substantial growth over the past couple of years owing to the increased need for power coupled with stricter emission norms which resulted in the need for cleaner methods of power generation. CFB boilers, due to their lower operating temperatures reduce the emission of gases such as sulfur dioxide, carbon dioxide and nitrogen dioxide. Furthermore, the reducing resource availability of fossil fuels such as coal has led to the development of CFB boilers which operate on a variety of fuels in addition to coal.
Unmatched, flexible technology
Fluidised bed firing is well suited for low grade fuels. In a CFB boiler, fuel is fed in a stream of fluidised hot solids consisting mainly of fuel ash and limestone. Efficient cyclones ensure extended residence times allowing full combustion at a temperature lower than in conventional pulverised fuel firing. Uniform low temperature distribution helps to mitigate fuel related issues such as slagging and corrosion, drastically reducing or even eliminating them.
We offer a wide range of circulating fluidised bed boiler, max 300 ton, Circulating fluidized bed (CFB) technology is the best technology for multi-fuel combustion - the ability to use diverse fuels of differing quality. The diversity of fuels ranges from conventional (coal, oil) and biomass to alternative (biogenous residues, sludge, rejects, and refuse-derived waste fractions with high calorific value). The high heat capacity of the fluidized bed evens out the fluctuations caused by fuel quality variations and effectively maintains combustion.
